First thing take the trim off by the handle see if its not broken on the lever,most likely its by the lock itself,probably the easiest solution it to remove the vw badge then cut away the plastic cover to reach the lock and cable,its really a nightmare.

Having phoned around a couple of VW dealers it seems that it was going to cost me around £250 to get the bonnet open! They said "our engineers will have to break in to the bonnet and fit a new catch & cable".

Apr 3, 2018 · nickmarrone2. If I lock the car with the fob or interior buttons, all the doors lock and unlock fine, except the front passenger door will not unlock. This doesn't happen all the time but does most of the time, warm or cold weather. When I hit unlock, the troublesome door does make a sound as if it is trying to unlock, but it still won't open.

13 Post (s) Re: Bonnet won't close – 13-11-2010, 03:09 PM. Try working the bonnet release lever at the RHS of the front footwell backwards & forwards quite a few times . This should then allow the cable to go fully back to allow the bonnet to close. This worked on my daughter's MK5.
Aug 11, 2014 · Start with the tool to release the boot hatch. Then unlock the roof and then lower it, put the boot hatch back down and lock it in. Then see if it will go back up, might fox the problem. If it doesn't go back up, put it back up manually. Could be a micro switch somewhere.

None of the articles on this page helped, The only way to open the hood is to either A) Take the bumper off or B) Break the grill or C)Stealership. it cost me 300 dollars to replace a broken hood release, what a ****ing rip off. I am never buyin an audi ever again.
You have a problem since, unlike the 5000 (Type 44) where the hood doesn't have the grill part attached and you could access the levers with a coat hanger, with the C4, you need a different attack plan to get the hood open. The first tricks to try are: 1. Get somebody to hold the hood down while you pull the lever (at Item 22) again, hard. 2.
